Love the glow filament but it takes certain light to make it actually glow.
First it clogged up the nozzle then it wouldnt stick to the bed ?? so I read as many reviews as I could and fiddle with the settings. So far so good with pritt stick on the bed and temp at 70 and nozzle at 220 print speed started at 50% and uped it to 75% after first few layers.
Might have to update review on completion but fingers crossed I dont ????
I ordered this product to use with my Ender.
PROS:
Good Adhesion
Glows like mad
Nice coloration in the light too
CONS:
None so far
TIP: DRY you filament before use.
Print has very nice colors. Quality is okay to good. If you want the color to change faster, you might want to 100% fill.
The ZIRO Multicolor Glow PLA Filament is one of the best glow-in-the-dark PLA filaments I have used. It is the first gradient multicolor filament I have used; all my previous glow-in-the-dark filaments were a single color. As another review mentioned, due to the length between the color changes, the effect will be better with taller prints. To see the best effects of this filament, a large, tall print with a higher infill setting (it will use more filament which will mean more frequent changes).
The adhesion was good to my textured spring steel PEI build plate, there was very minimal stringing (what little there was can most likely be eliminated with a few tweaks to the slicer settings), and no visible blemishes. The glow-in-the-dark effect was quite strong when exposed to UV light (the photos show one of the prints inside a SainSmart Resin Curing Machine (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B74375KF). As with most glow-in-the-dark filaments, the glow doesnt last a long time but does take a while for it to stop entirely.
In my experience, most glow-in-the-dark filaments do not like to be printed fast and this is no exception. I usually print in the 60-70mm/s range for most PLA and I printed my test prints at 45mm/s though I probably could have done slightly faster at 50mm/s without any issues. Of course, print speeds are also dependent on your particular printer, hotend, etc.
I plan on printing some larger and taller prints to see how well it transitions more fully between the different gradients. I will update my review once I have. If you are looking for a multi-color/gradient glow-in-the-dark filament, I can recommend the ZIRO Multicolor Glow PLA Filament.
