UPDATE: 2.2.22 ZIRO contacted me and offered to make things right. They gave me a full refund on the spool in question. That's the kind of customer service that will make me try their filament again. Thanks, ZIRO, for your prompt response and your willingness to go above and beyond to keep your customers happy! I will be purchasing from ZIRO in the future!
UPDATE: This review is intended for the MATTE WHITE PLA! NOT the marble PLA! I must've clicked the wrong link! This review DOES NOT apply to the BLUE/WHITE MARBLE PLA!
This filament came to my attention with rave reviews. After looking at the price per spool I thought it was a dream come true. Several TikTokers in the 3D printing world had said this stuff was great. So I decided to try it. What came next was a nightmare.
I usually like to start on the low end of the temperature threshold when I'm trying a new filament. If that doesn't work, I slowly increase the temp until good results are achieved. I started at 190C and had a lot of stringing. I bumped it up 5C. Nothing changed. Bumped it up to 200C. Eventually getting to 210C and this stuff started to sizzle and bubble out of the hotend nozzle. I didn't see any steam, so I don't think it was water, but you never know. I immediately pulled it out and ran some Hatchbox PLA through until the sizzling stopped and it was extruding normally. Upon printing new files, I got really bad clogging. I took the nozzle out, cleaned it while it was still hot, and put it back in and cranked up the temp until it was oozing out on its own. Tried another print. Now, when it decided to work and not clog, there were black, burnt pieces of filament coming out of the nozzle and ruining my prints. I'd had enough.
I took the hotend apart. Making sure there was no blockage in the Bowden tube. Thankfully it was clean. No blockages in the hotend itself. All clogs were coming from the nozzle. I replaced the nozzle with a brand new one. Things improved, although stringing was horrible and I was still getting black, burnt pieces of filament coming out and ruining my prints. I got out some purge/cleaning filament and ran about 100mm through. Everything was coming out clear. Put my Hatchbox PLA back in, adjusted my retraction and wiping settings, ran 3 different stringing calibration tests and finally got rid of that issue. It's printing OK now, but not great. I'm still getting black, burnt pieces of filament every so often. Not happy that Ziro Filament caused this issue on my CR-10S that had been printing perfectly for nearly 2 months with no problems. I'll give them 1 more chance, but if it happens again, I'll never buy from them again. Everybody gets 1 chance with bad filament. After that, no more.
